25 years of dedicated service in the Roanoke City Sheriff’s Office has equipped Octavia Johnson with the skills, knowledge and expertise needed to be Sheriff.
A person of integrity, courage and a humble-spirit, she challenges herself and inspires others to raise the bar of excellence in the workplace.
As sheriff of Roanoke City, Octavia Johnson pledges to:
• Restore professionalism and innovative leadership to the Sheriff’s
Office
• Make safety and security a top priority by updating technology and
implementing procedures
• Increase personnel retention, saving taxpayers money
• Institute survival skills training for children/youth
• Establish monthly orientation for inmate families
• Work with the community to implement programs to lower return offenders
